Ron
P. started out as a film student at Chicago’s Columbia College.
He turned to
photography because the frozen moment can mean something different
to
each individual viewer. The viewer reads the photo like a book,
where the
movie spells it out for you.
Ron loves photos where the woman is in control and the
photographer is merely the documenter of the tiny moments of this
amazing creature. He feels women are not ethereal statues on a
pedestal, but living, breathing, and visceral sexually vibrant
animals.
Ron has had many models, but the best way he can make his point
about the
complexity of women is to show the depth of his own girl, for she
is the one
he knows intimately.
”If I was a poet, I could describe my feelings with words, but I
am a very
visual person. To me, a picture is truly worth a thousand words.
So, here
you have several thousand words about my love affair with Aly.”
A black & white photographer who loves the darkroom, Ron is
also very
fond of infrared film and darkroom manipulations. He occasionally
shoots color as well as plays with digital manipulations, but does
not respect these as much as black & white sepia toned prints
from the darkroom.
